Mothers in Love
Hi, I’m Sarah Cassidy, and I’m so glad you’re here. I’m a soulful mother of three, a wife, a businesswoman, and a fiercely loyal friend. I’m here to tell you the truth: new motherhood isn’t always sunshine and smiles. It can be. A great deal of the time it is, but it can also be lonely, hard, and profoundly challenging. Frankly, I wasn’t prepared—not because I lacked family, friends, or resources, but because no one was completely truthful about what it really means to become a mother and unbecome who you used to be.
And that’s where my story begins.
Let Motherhood Change You
“Let it rearrange you. Let it soften your hard edges. Let it release your rules and rigidity. Let it unravel you. Let go. Let it go. Let go of what you thought motherhood would be like and be present in the unfolding of what actually ‘is.’ Be with it. Sit with it. Hold it, feel it, breathe it in. It’s not here to hurt you. It’s here to transform you.”

Know Me a Little Better
Ever since I emerged from the fog of having my first child more than two decades ago (!), I’ve felt a calling to help new mothers navigate the beautifully complex transition into their new life and identity.
My new book, Swaddled: Sage Stories to Wrap Mothers in Love, is a heartwarming collection of tales about women finding survival, solace, and confidence amid the vulnerability and rawness of new motherhood.

I am here to help you close the gap between expectation and reality, so you can enjoy the rapture of motherhood.
I wrote Swaddled because no one told me the truth about what it’s really like to be a new mother—especially for the first time. No one warned me about the waves of emotion, the exhaustion, or the way I would lose myself. And they certainly didn’t tell me that, in the midst of the mess, my life would eventually come back to me.
Had I been able to embrace those truths early on, I might have carried a glimmer of hope instead of facing the silent, unspoken struggles of new motherhood alone. My mission is to bridge that gap for those who come after me—with truth, trust, and honesty.
Society sells us the image of magic and picture-perfect moments, but the real journey of motherhood is about unbecoming who you were and discovering who you truly are.
I AM HERE TO REMIND YOU OF THIS:
You are not alone.
You are the perfect mother for your baby.
Your life will come back to you.
